Social Media for Mobile Bloggers
Let's face it - a mobile blog, or any blog, is incomplete without social media marketing. You may be producing stellar content and mind-blowing photos, but without the help of social networks, your efforts will go unnoticed.
The following social media networks offer mobile versions of their site, so you can browse the most popular articles from the network, see what your friends are sharing, and advertise your latest posts with these mobile versions.
Facebook's mobile site ensures you're never a text away from any friend's updates. Upload photos and update your status via email to a personalized email address that Facebook assigns. There are Facebook apps for practically every type of smartphone, including the iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and more.
StumbleUpon
Though currently only available for Androids, iPhones, and iPads, the mobile version of StumbleUpon provides all the same great services that its Web version provides. Hit the stumble button to view popular websites related to topics that you choose. Any pages that you bookmark, including your own posts, are automatically updated on your web StumbleUpon account, so your visitors will always see the latest bookmarks you create. Android users can use their App Discovery feature that selects a random app with every click.
Vote up your favorite stories, email interesting links to friends, or browse Reddit's most controversial stories with their mobile app. The interface is sleek, clean, and readable. After you've published your newest post, point your browser to Reddit's mobile site, add a title and paste your URL for the world to see.
Digg
Digg is lagging behind the social media pack that offers mobile sites for its members. Mobile Digg is a bit simple, and only offers users the choice to browse the "top news" and "your news" categories. As of this writing, Digg mobile apps are currently unavailable.
Google Buzz
This social media network is excellent for local bloggers interested in finding out what's going on in their area. Google Buzz for mobiles lets you see what people in your city are talking about and what they're doing. From your smartphone, you can make comments and like other people's updates, add your location to your buzz bites, and integrate mobile photos to your account. Certain features aren't available on all smartphones, with Android and iPhone having access to the most.
Delicious
Not as advanced as other mobile social networking sites, Delicious still allows users to explore tags, access previously saved bookmarks, and add new ones.
